Welcome to the official online headquarters for the celebration of the century! It is 2010 and San Bernardino is commemorating its 200th birthday with many exciting events and celebrations.  Check out our Calendar of Events for all of the magnificent things that are happening during our Bicentennial year.

It all began with the satirical musical Legend of the Arrowhead held at the historic California Theatre of Performing Arts in February.  Cal State University San Bernardino will hold a series of lectures during March and April which will reflect on the history of San Bernardino.

And, March and April is time to get your pride on!  There will be city-wide tree planting and a Neighborhood Beautification ContestVolunteer and become a part of history as the city spruces up for the big celebration!  Anyone who enters the Neighborhood Beautification Contest will be placed in an opportunity drawing for a chance to win one of many great prizes.

May 1 opens the month with the “Celebrate America” Concert and Dinner by the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra at the California Theatre of Performing Arts.  All aboard on May 8 & 9th to the San Bernardino Santa Fe Railroad Depot for the Railroad Days & Bicentennial Celebration . Take a tour on the Santa Fe 3751 Steam Engine while enjoying the antique cars, food, music and a visit from the Harvey Girls!

Elegance!  Delectable food and wine!  Yes, it is the Bicentennial Gala on May 15 at the National Orange Show Events Center!  A party like no other!  Go ahead, get dressed up for this black-tie-optional extravaganza and enjoy an evening with your friends, family and neighbors!

Join the Mayors Run for the 200th and Youth Safety Expo on May 16 at the Arrowhead Credit Union Park in the morning and then head over to the Western Regional Little League Stadium for the Festival of Faiths where you will be spiritually uplifted and inspired.

Everyone loves a parade!  Join in the fun on May 22 for the Bicentennial Parade and Celebration which will begin in Meadowbrook Park with rides, games, food and fun.  The parade is at 4:00 p.m. and will end back in the Park for float viewing and more festivities.

San Bernardino’s Got Talent is an American-Idol-Like contest!  Show our city’s talents at auditions on April 24 and 26th with the Finals to be held at Sturges Theatre on June 19.

Fireworks, live music, games, food – sound like fun?  Come to the Bicentennial Extravaganza & Fireworks on July 4th at the Arrowhead Credit Union Park.

To round out the Bicentennial events, you won’t want to miss the Western Regional Little League Finals in August, the 21st Annual Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous in September and the “Think Together” Bicentennial celebration in October.
